Job Title:  Environmental Coordinator

Reports to: Safety Health & Environmental Manager 

 

Primary Function:   Assist in the coordination of the environmental activities for the Midway facility to maintain compliance with EPA, TDEC, Corporate and Facility environmental regulations and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • 2 years’ experience in manufacturing setting or relevant environmental education background
  • Experience with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan 
  • Experience in Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure
  • Experience in Air Emissions
  • Experience with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Waste Classification/Management
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hour (Preferred not Required)
  • Ability to relate to management as well as shop floor employees
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship
  • Ability to manage multiple on-going tasks to meet deadlines
  • Minimal Travel
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform work directly related to management or general business operations in his key role in coordinating environmental tasks at the Midway facility.
  • Customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Formulate, interpret or implement environmental policies and operating practices. 
  • Carry out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business
  • Provide consultation and expert advice to management
  • Provide guidance and support to facility leadership in matters pertaining to environmental compliance
  • Coordinator is on call 24 hours per day to respond to environmental incidents
  • Act as the primary contact for environmental regulators during inspections
  • Assist SH&E Manager with safety initiatives to ensure compliance with all applicable standards. Including, but not limited to:
  • Management of Good Catch Program
  • Leadership of Safety Committee
  • Coordinate management required safety documentation for the facility (JSAs, Machine Guarding & PPE Assessments, New Equipment Evaluations, etc.)
  • Review and updating of all Facility Written Programs (LOTO, PIT, Hazcom, etc.) - ensure current, documented and in compliance
  • Promoting safe work practices and safety awareness
  • Develop and/or maintain safety related documentation
  • Prepare for, participate in and follow up on Corporate SH&E Audits
  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent OSHA and OBE requirements, programs and regulations
