Job Summary

 

This position is responsible for the dispatch function, coordinating with vendors/customers, fleet drivers, third party carriers, customer service, and sales.  It is also the dispatch position duty to process ship tickets in a timely manner, as well as closely monitor and track trucks from the start of the order to the point of completion.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate and process shipment requests from customers, customer service, and sales
  • Prepare delivery paperwork and related shipping documents
  • Enter/revise orders into system based on ship requests from customers
  • Check and review inventory availability and communicate any issues
  • Maintain shipping information using Oracle Transportation Management software including carrier assignment, rating accuracy, scheduling, and equipment requirements
  • Prepare and review loading/unloading, daily shipping reports, and delivery logs
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to customers, drivers, co-workers, supervisors, and the public at all times.
  • Communicate delivery times to customers and notify them of any issues
  • Coordinate with production and sales team to expedite and trace shipments
  • Audit and edit driver logs to ensure compliance with DOT and government regulations
  • Confirm Freight Purchase orders nightly
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

 

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience in related function.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Logistics experience with working knowledge of DOT regulations, scheduling of internal fleet equipment, and third-party carriers preferred.
  • Strong language, mathematical, and computer skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Generally works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting

 

Compensation

 

  • $23-$28 an hour, based on experience
