This position is responsible for supporting the accounting functions in areas such as A/P, month end and general accounting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and process incoming invoices through the company purchase order system
  • Classify, codify, and scan invoices into the OldCastle accounting system
  • Maintain proper supporting documentation for research and reference
  • Monitor accounts to ensure that payments are up to date
  • Code documents according to company procedures
  • Review invoices and statements to ensure that all the information appearing on them is accurate and complete
  • Check figures, postings, and documents to ensure that they are correct, mathematically accurate, and coded properly
  • Conduct research for audits, provide backup
  • Research and resolve billing disputes
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of accounts payable experience with freight invoicing
  • Experience with automated accounting systems
  • Ability to multi-task and work under time constraints
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to effectively interact with vendors and all internal stakeholders
  • Proficient in basic accounting andmath
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos


Physical Environment

  • Lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
