Pay: $25 an hour, depending on experience
Position Overview
The maintenance worker position, under limited supervision, performs work of routine difficulty maintenance; performs related work as assigned. Frequently works with others.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Performs routine maintenance on ready mix concrete plants and related equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance on buildings interior and exterior.
- Performs cleanup and housekeepping duties around shops, offices, and restrooms.
- Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary emergencies repairs that are outside the scope of routine maintenance.
- Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building and at site locations where they are performing their work.
- Move DOT (Department of Transportation) vehicles throughout the city.
- Continuous Observes all safety rules and keeps work areas and equipment clean and orderly.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Dependable and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Commercial Driver’s License Class B required
Work Requirements
- 3 years plant repair experience.
- Skills in: mechanics, welding, fabricating, cutting, plumbing, conveyor belt installation/repair and electrical s
- Pneumatic air systems knowledge
- This position is required to be available 24/7 and supply own hand tools.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to read and understand warning labels, instructions, signs and similar information. Ability to safely and effectively operate a high loader and the batching computer system. Ability to use general hand tools needed to perform minor maintenance on trucks. Work requires climbing on and off of the loader on a repeated basis throughout each workday.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Requires working in confined spaces. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- Some projects and task require working from heights.
