Project Falcon - Major Transformation

Location: Flexible : Hybrid/Mountsorrel - 3 days per week

Help Shape One of Tarmac's Most Significant Transformation Programmes

We're looking for an experienced PMO Lead to play a pivotal role in Project Falcon, Tarmac's major transformation programme.

This is an opportunity to join a high-profile strategic initiative at the heart of our business, ensuring the programme operates with robust governance, clear visibility, strong controls and effective decision-making.

As PMO Lead, you'll be the driving force behind the programme's governance framework, establishing the standards, processes and disciplines that enable leadership teams and workstreams to deliver with confidence. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the programme, ensuring risks, actions, decisions and reporting are managed consistently and transparently.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead Programme Governance

  • Establish and maintain governance standards, processes and procedures across all Project Falcon workstreams.
  • Embed consistent reporting standards, escalation protocols, decision authorities and evidence requirements.
  • Continuously improve PMO controls, templates and governance processes through assurance reviews and lessons learned.

Drive Reporting and Programme Visibility

  • Manage the governance calendar and reporting cadence across Steering Committees, leadership forums and workstream meetings.
  • Prepare and quality-assure governance packs, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete and delivered on time.
  • Support programme leadership with clear, reliable information and reporting.

Own RAID, Decisions and Actions

  • Maintain programme risk, assumption, issue, dependency, decision and action logs.
  • Follow up with owners to ensure information remains accurate and current.
  • Challenge incomplete updates and escalate governance or compliance concerns where required.

Coordinate Programme Forums

  • Organise agendas, papers, invitations and meeting logistics.
  • Capture meeting outputs, decisions and actions accurately and issue records promptly.
  • Ensure governance forums operate effectively and consistently.

Maintain Control and Compliance

  • Manage programme repositories, document control standards, version management and audit trails.
  • Support assurance reviews, stage gates and governance activities.
  • Promote governance excellence through guidance, coaching and stakeholder engagement.

Support Programme Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day PMO coordination and administration support to the Programme Manager and workstream leads.
  • Assist with governance-related Capex submissions and programme documentation.
  • Enable delivery teams while ensuring accountability remains with delivery owners.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings a strong PMO and governance background within complex transformation environments.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in a PMO, Programme Office or Project Coordination role.
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation, ERP or systems implementation programmes.
  • Demonstrable governance pack preparation and reporting cycle management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience maintaining RAID, decision and action logs.
  • Excellent meeting management, minute-taking and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience working across multiple workstreams and managing competing priorities.
  • Demonstrable document control, version management and audit-trail administration experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint and project collaboration tools.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting S/4HANA, ERP or digital transformation programmes.
  • Exposure to stage gates, assurance reviews, Capex submissions or structured governance environments.
  • Experience within logistics, operational transformation, construction materials or related industries.
  • PRINCE2 Foundation, APM PMQ, PMO or governance qualifications.
