Position Overview
The Parts Runner will play a vital role in supporting operations by ensuring the timely delivery and coordination of parts and materials to job sites, shops, and field teams.
Wage Range: $18-$22 per hour, dependent upon experience.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Promptly deliver parts and materials to job sites, shops, or field personnel as requested, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
- Pick up parts, tools, or materials from suppliers, vendors, or other company locations as directed by the Equipment Manager or Foreperson.
- Track and document all deliveries and pickups, maintaining accurate records.
- Assist with receiving, checking in, and organizing delivered parts; verify part numbers, quality, and condition upon receipt.
- Tag all received parts with appropriate work order numbers and ensure correct placement in designated storage areas.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization in the parts storage and delivery vehicle.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the Equipment Manager immediately.
- Assist with the return of incorrect or unused parts to vendors, ensuring timely processing and documentation.
- Maintain all delivery paperwork, mileage logs, and receipts; submit documentation daily as required.
- Follow all company safety protocols and procedures when handling, transporting, and storing parts or materials.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Previous experience in delivery, warehousing, or automotive/construction parts handling preferred.
Work Requirements
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
- Must be willing to travel.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Knowledge of automotive parts and automotive industry.
- Strong skill in maintaining inventory of parts.
- A working understanding of order fulfillment.
- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal, excellent interpersonal skills to foster interaction within all levels of the organization, clients and subcontractors.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and ability to prioritize these projects.
