Job Summary
The quality inspector is responsible for inspecting plastic injection molded parts to ensure they meet customer and internal quality requirements. This role supports daily production by performing in-process and final inspections, documenting results, identifying nonconforming products, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Work cell set-up with proper work instructions, quality documents, and product labels.
- Inspect molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, and burns.
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections per control plans and work instructions
- Use inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, Go/No-go fixtures, and visual standards
- Conduct basic functional and fit checks as required
- Record inspection results accurately on inspection sheets
- Communicate defects and trends to operators, process technicians, and supervisors
- Assist with corrective action documentation when required
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area
- Properly handle and store inspected materials
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Good reading and writing skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent walking/standing
- Work is performed in an industrial production setting
