Position Overview
As the Finance Manager, you will have responsibility for the end-to-end process during the financial cycles of up to twenty-five holding companies, be responsible for management accounting, monthly, quarterly and year-end group reporting and local statutory reporting and compliance. In addition, you are responsible for the financial analysis, budget development and monitoring, cost allocation and SOX controls of the holding entities. You will have a proven ability and willingness to get involved in detailed financial tasks, as well as demonstrate the ability to manage a full end-to-end process within given timelines. 

 

The candidate is a skilled financial professional with an understanding of management accounts, corporate accounting, compliance requirements under the German Company Law.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Management of entity bank accounts, intercompany loans and interest accruals
  • Provide secretarial support and governance to the Directors, including maintaining records of any company changes, preparation of board minutes, managing corporate filings and preparing relevant documentation and shareholder resolutions for example, for dividend payments
  • Completion of monthly general ledger accounting, in particular 
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including producing monthly account reconciliations and financial account analysis to stakeholders
  • Preparation of forecasts and annual budget for all entities
  • Preparation of quarterly financial account submissions under IFRS and US GAAP for group reporting
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and governance code 
  • Preparation of tax audit schedules and VAT reports using Elster.
  • Managing the flow of information and maintaining a close liaison with the Group Treasury, Legal and Tax functions, ensuring that both routine and significant transactions are accounted for appropriately
  • Maintaining an appropriate control environment
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors for statutory and SOX audits
  • Continuous process improvement to enhance information needs

 

Your Profile
You are/have:

  • Certified Accountant with three to five years post qualification experience
  • Relevant accounting and corporate governance experience 
  • Ability to work independently to run an end-to-end process with a hands-on mentality and an eye for detail 
  • Previous experience and deep understanding of German GAAP
  • A solid understanding of IFRS accounting practices and principles. US-GAAP is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills; affinity with ERP 
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and to work with teams across different cultures 
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to meet strict deadlines and manage priorities 
  • Excellent verbal and written German and English skills
