Position Overview
The Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of the company's safety program to ensure a safe workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors. This position plays a key role in implementing, monitoring, and documenting safety policies and procedures for both office and field operations in the building materials and construction industry. The Safety Administrator works closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and respond promptly to safety concerns and incidents.
The ideal candidate will reside within close proximity to an operating company in the Colorado & New Mexico region.
Wage Range: $55,000-$70,000
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain safety documentation, records, and reports for all company locations.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements relevant to the construction and building materials sector.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and track employee safety training, certifications, and renewals.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Support safety committee meetings, prepare agendas, and distribute meeting minutes.
- Maintain and distribute safety communication materials, including bulletins and alerts.
- Coordinate with external vendors for safety equipment procurement and maintenance.
- Assist with emergency response planning and drills.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience in a safety or administrative role, preferably in building materials, construction, or a similar industry preferred.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR) are an advantage.
Work Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and safety management software.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Report to the job site dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Commitment to teamwork and upholding safety standards at all times.
- Occasional travel to field sites and company locations may be required.

- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices in construction and building materials environments.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and via email.
- Frequent use of computers and office equipment.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to walk construction sites, climb stairs and ladders, and wear PPE as required.
- May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
