Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, a CRH company, is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.

 

 

A Product Designer is responsible for the design and testing of Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope ™ window products.  A successful Product Designer will have extensive knowledge of Awning, Hopper, Casement, Hung, Horizontal sliding and fixed window systems.  The Product Designer will be responsible for new products, product enhancements and custom application to ensure Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope ™ is a leader in the industry.

 

Specific Duties:

 

- Work with sales, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing to insure new products, product enhancements and custom applications meet the intended application.

- Design and test Awning, Hopper, Casement, Hung, Horizontal Sliding and Fixed window products to AAMA, NFRC, ASTM and other applicable industry standards.

- Develop product documentation and perform instructional training, so all product information is easy to access and understand.

- Review product efficiency and sales report, to determine if products are being made efficiently and are meeting the expectation of our
customers.

- Respond to the day-to-day requests and question that arises on window products.
- Prepare monthly status reports reviewing performance metrics of your projects.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Associates degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Civil, Bachelor degree preferred; 2-3 years related experience. Ability to use AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software, Autodesk Inventor a plus.

- Knowledge of thermally efficient design, ability to use NFRC simulation software a plus. Ability to perform above listed duties

- Self directed, minimal supervision

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to and create change
- Aluminum Windows Experience Preferred.
