Basic Function

 

Responsible for the preparation of submission drawings and production work orders to create custom aluminum windows and doors.  Resolution of design issues and communication with other team members and other departments.  Must have a global vision of each assigned project and see how different aspects of each project are interconnected. 

 

Qualified Candidate Must:

 

  • Develop shop-drawing plans, elevations, wall sections and details for architectural aluminum products using estimates, take-offs, project specifications, and/or architectural and structural drawings
  • Revise drawings as required, per red line mark ups and written directions
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers
  • Prepare complete and accurate submission and production drawings and documentation
  • Meet all deadlines for assignments and communicate any delays to your manager as soon as possible to minimize project impact. 
  • Design projects to support minimum through put time, optimum profitability, minimum manufacturing and minimum erection costs.
  • Produce zero errors on engineering assignments to eliminate revisions and downtime in the factory
  • Troubleshoot engineering related problems and resolve issues with customers and internal departments.  Communicate issues to your manager. 
  • Use all the latest engineering tools and shop standards to maximize efficiency and minimize errors

 

Requirements

 

  • Associate degree in Mechanical or Architectural design or euivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Mechanical programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Self directed, minimal supervision
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent Math skills reuired
  • Must be self motivated and flexible.
  • Aluminum window experience a plus.
