Basic Function

 

  • The Service Center Manager is responsible for managing the daily activities of the Distribution Center involving transportation, warehousing and related services to achieve customer service, satisfaction and cost objectives.
  • The company’s motto is to “ship every order every day”.  Therefore, speed and accuracy are paramount to the success of the operation.  Teamwork, coordination and timing of processes are critical. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage all activities at the site and have a strong Focus on Process Control.
  • Manage the Will Call business to ensure customers are provided a high level of service.
    • Order Processing
    • Walk-in business
    • Limited Technical Support, primarily application related queries
  • Communicate with various departments in Los Angeles regarding supply chain and service issues.
    • Operations
    • Customer Service
    • Technical Sales
    • Product Management/Quality
  • Have oversight of the following processes:
    • Sales Order processing; prepare for picking, then pull, pack, ship and bill
    • Inventory receipt from Los Angeles
    • Warehouse Location maintenance
    • Personnel
    • Safety management system
  • Manage the office and warehouse staff
  • Be in the office during M-F business hours and every other Saturday.

 

Requirements

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, an MBA is a plus.
  • 7+ years warehouse distribution experience including 3 years of management experience in a service/distribution center, preferably B2B.
  • A detail orientation with a desire to follow a proven process.
  • Proven experience managing a labor-intensive warehouse process.
  • A strong ability to gain trust and create alignment across the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and change management skills plus strong financial acumen.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with executives and senior management.

 

Educational Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent field of study.  MBA preferred.
