Data & Analytics Governance Manager

Are you ready to lead a data-driven transformation and shape the future of data governance at one of the UK’s most iconic infrastructure businesses?

At Tarmac, part of CRH, we are on a mission to transform everyday decision-making through data. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Data & Analytics Governance Manager to spearhead the creation and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance policies, frameworks, and standards. This is a high-impact role at the heart of our Transformation Data & Analytics function – where your work will directly influence operational efficiency and strategic decision-making across the organisation.

About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in establishing trusted data foundations by defining robust policies, championing data quality, and embedding governance practices across our systems and domains. You’ll work with both business and technology stakeholders to bring clarity and consistency to our data standards, taxonomies, and hierarchies.

You’ll also lead regular data governance forums and drive collaboration across the business, ensuring data is treated as a strategic asset. If you’re passionate about enabling better decisions through high-quality, well-governed data – this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework, including policies, standards and procedures
  • Drive alignment and consistency across master data, taxonomies and hierarchies to create “one version of the truth”
  • Lead initiatives to identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accuracy, consistency and completeness
  • Assess and mitigate data risks, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR) and data security
  • Promote a culture of data literacy and ownership through education, training and advocacy
  • Engage and manage stakeholders across the organisation to embed governance practices
  • Develop and track data governance KPIs and maturity models to continuously improve performance

About You
You’ll bring a strategic mindset and hands-on expertise in data governance, with a track record of implementing frameworks in complex organisations. You thrive in environments of change and know how to bring people with you on the journey.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-first approach to decision-making
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience implementing data governance best practices, including data quality, compliance, and stewardship
  • Familiarity with governance tools such as data catalogues, data dictionaries, lineage mapping, and observability tools
  • In-depth understanding of data compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR)
  • Undergraduate degree (BA, BSc); Master’s degree is a plus
  • UK work authorisation is essential

Why Tarmac?
At Tarmac, you'll be part of a culture that values innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. As we accelerate our data journey, you’ll play a central role in shaping how data drives growth, efficiency, and transformation across our business.
