Project Cutover Lead
Western Europe
Solihull, Solihull, United Kingdom

About the role

Project Cutover Lead – SuccessFactors

Fixed Term Contract | Hybrid (On‑site during cutover periods) CRH / Tarmac

Build the future. Shape the transformation.

CRH is a global leader in building materials solutions, and Tarmac plays a vital role in delivering sustainable construction across the UK — from essential raw materials to major infrastructure projects. Together, we’re driving innovation, resilience, and long‑term value for the communities we serve.

We’re now looking for an ambitious, highly organised, and energised Project Cutover Lead to join our SuccessFactors programme team. This is a pivotal role at the heart of a major transformation, ensuring a seamless transition from project delivery into business‑as‑usual operations.

What you’ll be doing

As our Cutover Lead, you will take full ownership of the end‑to‑end cutover plan across Data, Technical, and Business workstreams. You’ll bring structure, clarity, and control to a complex programme, ensuring every dependency is understood, every risk is managed, and every stakeholder is aligned.

You will:

  • Lead the cutover strategy — establish the overall approach and project plans across all major streams
  • Define cutover principles and secure stakeholder agreement
  • Oversee detailed cutover plans across Data, Technical, and Business areas
  • Develop comprehensive runbooks, checklists, and decision logs
  • Map dependencies and identify critical path activities
  • Establish a cutover governance framework with clear escalation routes
  • Maintain the RAID log, tracking and mitigating risks
  • Provide command and control during cutover entry, trials, and exit
  • Build and maintain rollback and contingency plans
  • Deliver evidence‑based Go/No‑Go recommendations
  • Coordinate with BAU and Release Management to ensure environment readiness
  • Validate readiness criteria ahead of live cutover
  • Communicate regularly with senior stakeholders and technical leads
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation during cutover windows
  • Work with business continuity teams to minimise operational disruption
  • Facilitate cutover readiness forums and decision‑making sessions

What you’ll bring

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re calm under pressure, structured in your thinking, and confident leading complex, multi‑disciplinary teams through high‑stakes transitions.

We’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience leading complex IT or business transformation cutovers
  • A highly successful  project management background (Prince2, PMP, Agile or equivalent)
  • Experience with cutover planning tools (Cutover.com, ServiceNow, MS Project, Smartsheet)
  • Hands‑on experience with SuccessFactors
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead with command and control during critical periods
  • Experience running cutover rehearsals and embedding lessons learned
  • Understanding of data migration, technical infrastructure, and business change
  • A significant risk and issue management capability
  • Collaborative working style across diverse teams
  • ITIL Foundation (desirable)
  • Experience in construction, building materials, or related industries (desirable)
  • Knowledge of SAP/ERP implementations
  • Change management certification (Prosci, CMI) (desirable)
  • Experience with Agile/DevOps environments
  • Background in 24/7 operational settings
  • Understanding of UK regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Experience with cloud migration and infrastructure cutovers

Why join us?

You’ll be stepping into a high‑impact role at a defining moment in our transformation journey. This is your opportunity to influence outcomes, shape processes, and ensure a smooth transition that will support thousands of colleagues across the UK.
