Job Summary

 

The Director of Operations directs manufacturing operations for three or more harvesting sites, directly coaching and leading the site plant managers. The role is responsible for the multi-site P&L responsibilities, HES compliance, production volumes, and ensuring increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction.  Key deliverables include goal setting, metric tracking, and continuous improvement plans around costs, volumes, quality, and safety.

 

Job Location

 

This role will work remotely and traveling 50-75% supporting our plants in Lakeview, OR, Oak Grove, TX, Tooele, UT and Coal Creek, ND. Preferred candidate locations would be UT, OR, IL, ND or TX.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Comply with Eco Material Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Responsible for profitability, safety, quality, productivity, training and continuous improvement for multiple sites
  • Manages policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and plant performance measures
  • Provides leadership and development for harvesting plant leadership through effective/timely communications, coaching, training, and development plans
  • Provides leadership for continuous improvement plans to ensure long term cost controls, best practice sharing across all sites, and establishing capital investment strategies for improvement projects
  • Manages material requirements including inventory and staffing plans
  • Works directly with the area marketing teams to develop manufacturing plans to meet customer demand and is willing to be flexible and expedient to changing demands
  • Ensures compliance with harvesting strategy structure and overall company policies
  • Helps ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (including site specific permitting)

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree required (engineering or technical degree preferred)
  • 2 - 5 years' experience as a Plant Manager or other functional role
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Excellent coaching and development skills
  • Strong continuous improvement background with working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools
  • Strong technical knowledge and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage and/or lead projects and teams of people
  • Awareness of EEO issues related to the facility
  • Excellent planning, organizing, prioritizing, and time management skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with different types of people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to recognize, reward and promote positive performance
  • Working knowledge of contracts, budgets, and financial statements
  • Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others, including the ability to collaborate, delegate, and involve others in decision-making and problem solving
  • Responsible for measurement of performance to company goals and standards, and establishment of targets for improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and volumes
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously
  • Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance
  • The ability to think strategically, respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements
  • The ability to organize and execute new plant start-up operations efficiently and effectively to forecasted plans
  • Demonstrated excellent PC skills, including Excel, Word and other MS Office programs
  • Working knowledge of employment related laws

 

Job Compensation

 

  • Salary range of $160,000 to $190,000/year
