Position Summary

This position will support all Northwest locations through Washington, Northern Idaho, Oregon and Montana with a preference to be physically located in Spokane, WA or Salem, OR; however consideration will be given to expand that preference based on skills and abilities.


Responsible for maintenance of files and records regarding worker compensation claims, as well as property damage/general liability claims at the corporate level.  Act as the liaison between claims examiner and company representative.  Manage information according to pre-determined deadlines and compile numerous reports working with TPA, accounting, and internal safety coordinators. 


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Claims Coordination - coordinate with claims examiner to ensure initial set-up is complete, act as liaison between claims examiner and company representatives, and manage information according to pre-determined deadlines for worker compensation and property damage claims.  Prepare and distribute monthly safety reports on the status of claims and serve as resource contact for injured worker and/or safety directors.
  • Property Damage - monitor damage claims in association with Liberty Mutual, coordinate efforts of independent adjusters, safety directors, and employees.  Maintain safe worker/driver statistics.  Prepare and distribute monthly safety reports.
  • Industrial Hygiene Program Administration - coordinate annual hearing tests, ensure completion, follow-ups completed, medical evaluations completed when necessary.  Coordinate ergonomic studies at office locations.
  • Administrative Process
    • Maintain MSHA records for all company gravel pits.  Complete quarterly reports
    • Track MSHA inspections and citations for NW locations 
    • Complete OSHA 300 logs for all NW locations
    • Certificate of Insurance  - maintenance and compliance recordkeeping

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.


Work Requirements

  • High level of proficiency in MS office with emphasis in Word and Excel. Necessary skills include: strong communication skills, both verbal and written; excellent interpersonal skills; organizational skills; attention to detail; and maintain confidentiality.  Knowledge of worker compensation and/or general insurance practices preferred.
