Key Responsibilities

· Ensure accurate batching of concrete by verifying admixtures and dosages, meeting company and customer specifications every time

· Adjust batching weights and quantities to maintain quality standards

· Champion a safe work environment for yourself and your team, following all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations

· Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as required

· Collaborate with the Foreperson and team to achieve project goals and daily expectations

· Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in all interactions

· Maintain reliable, on-time attendance to keep operations running smoothly

 

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required

· Prior experience as a Batch Plant Operator preferred

· Strong understanding of concrete mix designs and components

 

Essential Skills & Requirements

· Verify each load for volume, mix, additives, and all relevant quality data

· Operate batching and plant equipment safely and efficiently

· Receive, inspect, and manage raw material inventories

· Maintain accurate records and logs

· Oversee cleaning and basic maintenance of the central mix plant

· Monitor plant inventories (cement, flyash, admixtures)

· Proficient in computer batching systems

· Identify problems, collect data, and communicate effectively with supervisors

· Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues

· Strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies

· Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as needed

· Team player willing to assist with additional duties as required

 

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

· Basic operation of skid steer/BobCat equipment

· Experience with hand tools and general equipment maintenance

 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

· Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.

· Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.

· Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.

· Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.

· Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.

· Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
