- Perform all lubrication activities with greases, oils, solid lubricants on running equipment.
- Perform oil changes and flushing procedures on running equipment.
- Fill out all lube routine forms daily, either paper base or electronic.
- Involved in daily plant inspections, cleanup, and routine maintenance.
- Operates and loads equipment for the movement of raw material to the main plant for production.
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Use basic diagnostic and inspection tools such temperature IR pyrometers, vibration handheld meters, timing lamp, pressure gauges.
- Meet with Mechanical Inspector and Reliability Engineer/Manager to give feedback of findings during daily routines.
- Organize and plan maintenance each day.
- Prepare for scheduled maintenance.
- Housekeep oil storage room.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Troubleshoots operational problems.
- Use computerized handheld device to report problems or findings.
- Follow all plant safety policies.
- Follow all plant environmental policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ yrs experience operating heavy equipment or related experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Work overtime, odd and unscheduled hours as required and share on-call duties.
- Ability to use hand tools (shovels, rakes, pokers, brooms, drills, wrenches, etc)
- Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment and ladders, bending, working within confined spaces and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
- Cement Manufacturing -- Knowledge of raw materials, methods, and the tools involved in the mining, production, shipping and packaging of cement.
- Mechanical -- Knowledge of equipment used, machines and tools, including their uses, repair of, and maintenance.
- Engineering and Technology -- Knowledge of the practical application of the technology used and manufacturing of cement. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of cement.
- Environmental – Knowledge of proper allocation of waste material.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to safely work in an outdoor environment with frequent exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
- Ability to perform tasks that include frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing equipment, and working within confined spaces to access and inspect equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
