Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for safely packing aluminum extrusions for shipment to internal and external customers. Must be flexible to work the day or night shift. Rotating 12-hour shifts.  6a-6p or 6p-6a

 

Requirements

  • Pack aluminum extrusions using a box knife, cardboard and tape
  • Ensures quality in the process including correct documentation, verification of the part, quantities, quality, finish, and the correct length of the metal
  • Operate an overhead crane
  • Communicate well with peers and management
  • Read written instructions and follow verbal instructions
  • Multitask, prioritize and work under time constraints
  • Must be a team player and willing to be trained to work in other areas as assigned
  • Must be able to work night shift 6 am to 6 pm, with periods of required overtime
  • Preference will be given to applicants with former packing experience
  • Regular and predictable attendance, ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for entire shift on concrete, up to 12 hours
  • Twist, bend and kneel
  • Lift, push, pull or move up to 75lbs individually and 150lbs with a partner
  • Requires constant reaching, handling and grasping while turning of upper body while moving and lifting
  • Visual acuity to inspect product for various quality flaws, recognize metal quality, view die prints
  • Proper wear of all required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Work in temperatures consistent with same outdoor climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
