This role will be a well rounded technology specialist who will handle most of the day-to-day support in the areas of network infrastructure, personal computer hardware & software, administration, telecommunications, and other similar functions.


What You'll Get To Do:


  1. Network Administration
    • Assume responsibility for all network related functions.
    • Maintains the core Email structure and all hardware and software to support the infrastructure
    • Maintains the core Internet/Intranet structure and all hardware and software to support the infrastructure.
    • Maintains the core Database (Oracle and SQL Server) structure and all hardware and software to support the platforms.
    • Maintains the core file and print structure and all hardware and software to support the infrastructure
    • Maintains the core Engineering, ERP and scheduling package and all hardware and software to support them.
    • Responsible for network related services such as Active Directory, backup, patches, antivirus, Web filter, wireless, scanners, etc.
    • Perform other network duties as assigned
  2. Performs all Personal Computer and helpdesk related activities
    • Support for all helpdesk activity
    • Provide support for IT software installed on user machines
    • Perform first level network and peripheral support
    • Manage helpdesk support software
    • Log all calls and build knowledgebase
    • Produce reports of requested activity on the helpdesk
  3. Helps with the new IT purchasing/requisition process
    • Works with Vendors to obtain quotes for hardware
    • Looks for competitive pricing on software, peripherals, and hardware
    • Works with the users to determine need and possible solutions
    • Interfaces with purchasing to procure the necessary items
  4. Printer and copier support
    • Maintains all printer and multi-function devices
    • Maintains appropriate toner levels and actively manages inventory
    • Interfaces with 3rd party printer support vendor
  5. Maintains Hardware inventories
    • Responsible for creation and maintenance of all hardware in the helpdesk database
    • Maintains hardware spare parts inventory
    • Maintains hardware warranty information
    • Work closely with Dell to obtain spare parts as needed
  6. Maintains Software inventories
    • Maintains physical copies of all software
    • Maintains licenses of all software
    • Maintains all information in the helpdesk database
  7. Serve as the point of contact for telecommunications issues, working with 3rd parties to resolve problems as needed.
  8. Serve as the point of contact for systems issues, working with 3rd parties to resolve problems as needed.
  9. Pursues self-development and continuing professional education and keeps abreast of technology changes in potentially useful hardware and software products.

  2. Must be able to work autonomously.
  3. May be required to work with all levels of personnel in the company, as well as customers, vendors, and other external sources.
  4. Must be able to evaluate the application of new technology against existing business situations as well as project extended use of new technology to new uses.
  5. Serves as the primary technical support for onsite users.
  6. Is available to be on-call to address critical problem areas.
