The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. This position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of Customer Service functions including, but not limited to, the following:
- Take and fulfill customer orders for aggregates and asphalt including product delivery instructions
- Input orders into our point-of-sale system
- Make sure the product that the customer is ordering is correct for that job or project. Contact the QC or sales department if a different product is requested
- Collaborate with operations/haulers to coordinate delivery from the best location
- Call customers in advance of late deliveries or delays in service
- Proactively reach out to customers on new secured projects
- Keep the Customer Service/Dispatch Manager and sales department informed of problems or concerns throughout the day that may require their knowledge or attention
- Communicate directly with the Sales regarding scheduling
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Candidate must be energetic and customer friendly with the ability to work in a fast paced team atmosphere that focuses around the customer in the aggregates, asphalt & construction industry.
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision
- Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime
- Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Dispatchers, Drivers and other employees
- Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and all other company or governmental state rules and regulations.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
- Occasional travel to other locations
- Ability to complete and pass pre-employment screenings
Education/Experience
- Aggregate and asphalt experience preferred but will train the right candidate
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel is preferred
- This position offers a rate of $26-$27 hourly
