The R&PA team forms part of the CRH Group Finance function, is a high performing team and a valued business partner that leads a number of key internal and external reporting processes. This includes monthly Board and management reporting, financial planning and analysis, forecast and annual Budget; the team also prepares quarterly briefing materials to support external results announcements and business performance related sections of the 10-Q/10-K. The wider R&PA team is divided up into two sub teams, Reporting and FP&A, each of which has ownership for specific processes and deliverables and is the central liaison for the Divisions.
This role is a financial analyst position on the R&PA Reporting sub-team. The Reporting team is responsible for:
- Monthly Board and management reporting including review and analysis of their key performance metrics, providing detailed analysis and commentary to Board and senior management of drivers of performance;
- Annual Budget reporting process including review and analysis of their key performance metrics, providing the related output reporting and analysis for Group preliminary and final budget to the Board and executive team;
- Governance and reporting of Capital Expenditure for the Divisions, including tranche allocation and detailed analysis of major capital projects on a quarterly basis;
- Building a collaborative and functional relationship with CRH colleagues in the Divisional Finance teams, identifying solutions and resolving complex issues as they arise;
- Review of management to financial results reconciliation for the Division at quarter-ends;
- Provision of high-quality and timely ad-hoc analysis to senior management and business partners.
Hybrid working at present, with the team ordinarily based at Group HQ in Stonemasons Way, Dublin.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide critical analysis for the monthly Board and management reporting processes including review of the results submitted by the Divisions and ownership of the related outputs with a key focus on critical trend analysis, key performance metrics and drivers of performance.
- Ownership and review of the preliminary and final budget outputs for the Group including Board and management presentations, reports and analysis.
- Review and analysis of financial reporting notes and disclosures, as part of the Group financial consolidation process.
- Ability to identify and resolve reporting issues that arise, identifying solutions while working closely with Divisional Finance and other teams across Group Finance.
- Assistance in system developments that are required in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for reporting purposes, liaising with the Hyperion support team.
- Support the implementation of EPM for Reporting, actively involve in UAT, parallel run activities and Go‑Live readiness review, while help establishing aligned Management Reporting Guidelines to support a consistent, future‑state reporting framework.
- Focus on continuous improvements in all processes and outputs to add value and drive business results.
- Build strong relationships while working extensively with Divisional Finance teams on new reporting requirements and analysis in order to provide greater insight into their performance and results.
- Provide high quality ad hoc analysis to senior management as requested to support decision making.

Education and Experience:
- Qualified accountant with up to 2 years PQE
- Strong academic background, professional record and qualification (ACA, CFA or equivalent)
- Experience working on high performing teams, ideally across different geographies
- Good systems capabilities and/or interest in financial reporting systems; experience with HFM system would be an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Exposure to Group reporting and processes.
The nature of the role is outlined above. Flexibility is required within the role, which includes some core elements but also periodic emphasis on more project-type activities.
