Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience operating loaders or similar heavy equipment preferred.
- Experience in asphalt or aggregate operations strongly preferred.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.Valid driver’s license required; CDL may be preferred.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime, especially during peak paving season.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid Driver’s License is preferred
