Nature & Scope:

 

Responsible for ensuring the fabrication segment of each production line is properly tooled to ensure balanced flow and efficient utilization of resources. This individual will work with-in a team of three skilled tool and die specialists. The team’s high level responsibility will be to ensure each production line is equipped to fabricate any product which is scheduled to that line while promoting linear flow to minimize motion, conveyance and overproduction.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities & Duties:

 

  • Changeover and or relocation of any and all fabrication equipment (Mills, Cassettes, Mechanical presses…)
  • Inventory, and organize all tooling (Dies, Cassettes, Fixtures, Cutters...) to promote quick and efficient line changeovers.
  • Assist the tool room with equipment modifications to increase or optimize production capacity.
  • Continuously improve line layouts and fabrication methods to minimize labor requirements within the fabrication processes by product.
  • Continuously seek out and act upon opportunities to engineer out equipment related safety risks.
  • Continuously seek out and act upon opportunities to engineer out equipment related quality risks.

           

Qualifications:

 

Education

  • High School Diploma / GED preferred
  • Employee will be required to maintain a defined performance expectation and complete a series of on the job and off the job training programs. Graduated pay increases will occur upon successful and timely completion of required training.

 

Experience

  • Tow motor experience a plus
  • Machining experience a plus
  • Basic understanding of fabrication methods a plus

 

Certifications

  • Fork Lift – Training Provided

 

Skills

  • Must be able to count, read, and write
  • Accurately use a tape measure
  • Read machine drawings
  • Ability to use a variety of power tools
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Computer literate
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Use “Lock Out, Tag Out” procedures
