Expocrete, a CRH Company is looking for a Controller - Acheson, Alberta. Helping our customer’s vision to become reality is what we do at Expocrete. We design, manufacture and inventory an extensive selection of hardscape concrete products including paving stones, walkway slabs, yardscapes, landscape/retaining walls, and garden walls – available in colours and textures rivaled only by nature.

 

 

 

Safety

•    Cultivate and develop opportunities to incorporate safe work practices into daily working routine; assist others in identifying and adhering to established safety procedures; be mindful of potential safety issues and report them immediately to a Supervisor, Safety Committee member or Group Health & Safety Manager

 

Finance

•    Recommends and oversees financial objectives, and policies
•    Recommends and implements improvement to efficiencies of financial processes
•    Prepares reports to forecast business activity and financial position
•    Prepares, oversees and maintains documentation related to budgets and other related financial activity
•    Maintains internal controls to safeguard and mitigate risk to company assets including inventory management
•    Plans and supports physical inventory audits
•    Supports all aspects of internal and external audits
•    Responsible for fixed asset and CAPEX reporting
•    Responsible for ensuring the integrity and compiling of data required by regional, corporate and regulatory agencies
•    Provides financial support and partners with other business leaders in order to optimize PBITDA delivery
•    Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities
•    Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

 

Supervision

•    Supervise employees who perform financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and budgeting duties.
•    Provide training and development for staff in finance management, budgeting, SOX compliance and any other needs identified in the department.


Position Knowledge
•    Demonstrates experience with financial forecasting, and financial statement preparation
•    Must have strong analytical and supervisory skills 
•    Demonstrates experience with GAAP, cost accounting, inventory management and forecasting
•    Strong Computer skills: Accounting Software, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint    

 

Position Experience/Education
•    University Degree
•    Professional Accounting designation
•    Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in general accounting/finance areas, including but not limited to budgets, legal compliance, P&L, SFAS Rules in a manufacturing environment
•    Minimum of 5 to 7 years of supervisory experience
