Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Post open positions in SuccessFactors (online recruiting source) as well as other job boards used in the recruiting process
  • Assist managers with applicant screening and interview process
  • Coordinate pre -screening process
  • Conduct new hire orientations
  • Manage employee leave
  • Conduct trainings
  • Complete annual compliance reporting
  • Participate in recruiting/outreach events
  • Establish recruiting relationships with organizations
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations, if applicable, as set forth by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), or any other regulatory agency
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as required


  • Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field; 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience

Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older
  • Must submit to, drug screen and criminal background check
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
  • Maintains professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information; restricts discussion/knowledge of activity to a “need to know” basis
  • Must be willing to travel on a limited basis and work away from home when required
  • A valid driver’s license


Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with email, Internet, and Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong customer service abilities
  • Ability to analyze issues independently.
  • Ability to produce results while working independently
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Understanding and experience of basic HR systems and reporting is helpful.
