Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounts Receivable Specalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will sustain a culture of continuous improvement, deliver effective AR processes, and demonstrate a commitment to outstanding customer service.
What Shared Service Does:
A Shared Services Center (SSC) centralizes critical business processes, streamlining operations, reducing costs, and delivering consistent quality. By consolidating areas such as finance, procurement, payroll, and reporting, SSC eliminates duplication, frees time for strategic priorities, and fosters efficiency. SSC's primary functions include:
- O2C (Order-to-Cash): Manages the customer journey from order to payment, driving smoother revenue processes.
- R2R (Record-to-Report): Enables robust financial reporting and accounting.
- P2P (Procure-to-Pay): Ensures timely vendor payments and strong supplier relationships. Manages the Travel and Expense program.
- Center of Excellence: Drives innovation and continuous improvement.
- Payroll (Hire-to-Retire): Ensures accurate, compliant employee payments.
- Shared Services enables companies to focus on growth and strategic goals while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Value Delivery
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement for efficient AR processes.
- Execute tasks assigned by the AR Processing Supervisor or AR Processing Manager.
- Commit to outstanding customer service.
- Stay updated on best practices and trends in AR, shared services, and related technologies.
- Identify and promote process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Monitor AR controls and key operational management controls.
- Adhere to the AR Processing sub-team’s policies, procedures, and controls.
- Coordinate with teams at various localized operating companies.
- Issue customer statements and process incoming payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts and issue credit notes.
- Investigate and resolve customer accounts receivable balance discrepancies.
- Perform AR reporting with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide guidance to AR Processing Analysts.
- Engage with the team and prioritize professional development and innovative thinking.
Performance Management
- Collaborate within the AR Processing sub-team to improve processes and efficiency.
- Drive automation over manual work when possible.
- Ensure the sub-team meets timelines and manages risks.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in finance and accounting functions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with SAP or equivalent ERP in a shared services environment.
- Familiarity with designing and standardizing transactional processes.
- Working knowledge of building products/construction industry practices preferred.
- Proven track record of delivering high levels of customer service.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
- Understanding of business processes in heavy building material and construction organizations preferred.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and guide others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Familiarity with point of sales systems (POS).
- Ability to lead by example in work ethic and professional attitude.
- Ability to navigate competing priorities and maintain a collaborative culture.
- Strong computer skills.
- Familiarity with invoices, sales orders, credit memos, and bank deposits.
- Proven skills in process improvement and technology-enabled efficiencies.
- Ability to prioritize and provide clarity.
Physical Requirements
- Able to communicate by telephone and in person.
- Able to use a computer for word processing, email communication, and document preparation.
- May require sitting for extended periods.
Work Environment
- Normal office working conditions with a quiet noise level.
