Job Summary:
The Billing Supervisor will lead a sub-team within the Billing shared services, focusing on customer invoice processing, distribution, adjustments, and rebills. This role involves managing key performance indicators, service level agreements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The supervisor ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and controls, supports external audits, and maintains familiarity with relevant financial systems and practices.
What Shared Service Does:
A Shared Services Center (SSC) centralizes critical business processes, streamlining operations, reducing costs, and delivering consistent quality. By consolidating areas such as finance, procurement, payroll, and reporting, SSC eliminates duplication, frees time for strategic priorities, and fosters efficiency. SSC's primary functions include:
- O2C (Order-to-Cash): Manages the customer journey from order to payment, driving smoother revenue processes.
- R2R (Record-to-Report): Enables robust financial reporting and accounting.
- P2P (Procure-to-Pay): Ensures timely vendor payments and strong supplier relationships. Manages the Travel and Expense program.
- Center of Excellence: Drives innovation and continuous improvement.
- Payroll (Hire-to-Retire): Ensures accurate, compliant employee payments.
- Shared Services enables companies to focus on growth and strategic goals while maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Billing sub-team in processing and distributing invoices.
- Analyze and manage performance indicators and service agreements.
- Promote continuous improvement and efficient billing processes.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to meet business needs.
- Review billing reports to identify fraud.
- Support external audit efforts.
- Commit to outstanding customer service.
- Stay updated on best practices and trends in billing and related technologies.
- Identify and promote process improvements and automation.
- Influence and negotiate with various stakeholders.
- Monitor billing and operational controls.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with localized operating companies.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Maintain familiarity with the chart of accounts and SAP code block elements.
Team Management
- Collaborate with Opportunity to Cash Lead and other managers.
- Contribute to talent management strategy.
- Enhance team culture and support business needs.
- Maximize employee retention through recognition and motivation.
- Conduct performance reviews and career development sessions.
- Coach employees for engagement and professional growth.
Performance Management
- Drive process improvements and efficiency.
- Promote automation over manual work.
- Ensure sub-team meets timelines and manages risks.
- Develop partnerships with business representatives.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure service levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years in finance and accounting functions.
- Minimum 3 years with SAP or equivalent ERP in shared services.
- Minimum 3 years leading others in a shared services environment.
- Familiarity with designing and standardizing processes.
- Preferred experience in building products/construction industry.
- Proven leadership and customer service track record.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Physical Requirements
