Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly collaborative Fixed Assets Analyst to join our Record-to-Report (R2R) team. This role involves managing fixed asset transactions, reconciliations, and reporting processes, while driving efficiencies through process improvements and automation. The position requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

 

What Shared Services Does:

A Shared Services Center (SSC) centralizes critical business processes, streamlining operations, reducing costs, and delivering consistent quality. By consolidating areas suchas finance, procurement, payroll, and reporting, SSC eliminates duplication, frees time for strategic priorities, and fosters efficiency. SSC's primary functions include:

 

  • O2C (Opportunity-to-Cash): Manages the customer journey from order to payment, driving smoother revenue processes.
  • R2R (Record-to-Report): Enables robust financial reporting and accounting.
  • P2P (Procure-to-Pay): Ensures timely vendor payments and strong supplier relationships.
  • Center of Excellence: Drives innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Payroll (Hire-to-Retire): Ensures accurate, compliant employee payments.
  • Shared Services enables companies to focus on growth and strategic goals while maintaining operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate the Fixed Asset Register: Ensure accurate tracking, classification, and reporting of all fixed assets.
  • Process asset transactions: Handle additions, disposals, transfers, impairments, adjustments in compliance with company policy and accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP).
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations: Reconcile fixed assets with the general ledger and ensure timely close processes.
  • Support audit requirements: Prepare reports and provide documentation for internal and external audits, including compliance with SOX policies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams: Collaborate with finance, controllership, and operations to ensure accurate asset management and reporting.
  • Ensure strong internal controls: Implement and monitor controls within the asset management process to prevent errors.
  • Calculate and record depreciation: Estimate asset life and salvage value to determine depreciation schedules.
  • Support ERP system integration: Work with systems like SAP or CoStar to manage asset data and reporting.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement to optimize accounting processes.
  • Assist with month-end closing, reconciliations, and preparation of journal and general ledger entries.
  • Identify and promote process improvements, including automation initiatives, to gain efficiency.
  • Monitor adherence to accounting controls and operational safeguards.
  • Provide guidance to team members as needed.
  • Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, supporting professional development and innovative thinking within the team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (required).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance and accounting functions (required).
    • At least 2 years of experience with SAP or equivalent ERP in a shared services environment (required).
    • Familiarity with designing and standardizing transactional processes (preferred).
    • Working knowledge of the building products/construction industry (preferred).

 

Skills:

  •  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, lease accounting, financial reporting, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with CoStar, or similar asset management tool.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities across diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in month-end close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Proven skills in process improvement and technology-enabled efficiency gains.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a collaborative culture.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on customer service excellence.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid role with 3 days in office and fully in office for the first 6 months.
  • Normal office working conditions with a quiet noise level.
