Job Summary
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Commercial Sales Representative to help us increase company revenue by growing sales of Oldcastle products in Southern California. You will have the autonomy to create and apply an effective sales strategy. Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager. This position will include growing sales with commercial contractors, generating leads, hosting product presentations and training, and developing long-term customer relationships.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining effective relationships with current contractors that lead to increased sales and revenue
- Work closely with customers and contractors to develop sales strategies that align with their business needs
- Provides technical expertise, sales presentations, plan reviews, first-level material take-offs, and job site visits as needed
- Work with operation team to efficiently plan weekly and monthly production plans
- Participate in professional organizations relative to territory
- Working knowledge of long cycle sales and how to manage the process
- Promote products and educate customer base regularly on product offering
- Work closely with the architectural team on projects and pipeline management
- Communicate regularly with inside sales on estimating and opportunity follow up
- Works in a team environment by:
- Communicating about sales opportunities
- Contributing to Oldcastle’s Belgard Commercial branding efforts and participating in marketing programs and tradeshows
- Conducting internal and external training
- Developing and maintaining an opportunity tracking and customer/prospect database through salesforce.com
- Manages submittal documents and organizes available test data, product information, and environmental data
- Coordinates sample submittals and job site mock-ups
- Seeks new uses and applications for company products with present and prospective customers
- Stays alert to competitive products and marketing practices, and to keep management informed
- Maintain up-to-date customer and territory records and maintains CRM database
- Participates in sales meetings, training programs, meetings, and trade shows
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
- Experience using Salesforce for accounts, sales and pipeline management
- Sales experience with contractors or installers in the building materials industry
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, training and education
- 5+ years related experience managing a multi-million-dollar territory in building materials industry
- Construction industry experience – familiar with the commercial construction process including retaining wall hands-on field experience
- Must be able to read and understand construction drawings and project specifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel overnight as needed
- Ability to lift products up to 50lbs
- Ability to navigate through a Customer Relationship Management platform
- Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with team members in other departments
Compensation
- Base salary is $85,000 - $90,000
- Competitive commission package
