Position Overview
Manages the Operational Procurement Team and drives the execution of the defined category strategies on a local level. Identify and enable opportunities for cost reductions, cost avoidance and service improvements. Provides guidelines and direction to the local team to execute procurement tactics to achieve these benefits. Build strong and effective relationships both with internal customers across various departments, the local/regional category team, and external suppliers to create the framework for the implementation of procurement initiatives and processes.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Drives the execution of the defined category strategy on a local level. Work closely with the Category Manager and Divisional Procurement team
- Foster and promote relationships with key internal stakeholders across all lines of business
- Lead team of buyers and receivers. Management skills include ability to train, motive and lead employees.
- Complete accounts payable vendor setup
- Identifies and enable opportunities for cost reductions, cost avoidance and service improvements. Provides guidelines and direction to the local team to execute procurement tactics to achieve these benefits.
- Provides monthly reporting on savings, benefits, key initiatives and projects through development of an effective Procurement Management dashboard (KPIs)
- Overall responsible for delivering the procurement category strategy and plans across all channels supported by sourcing strategy, supplier negotiation, selection and evaluation
- Own the supplier relationships and take actions to deliver value through sourcing activities and vendor management
- Responsible for driving spend to preferred vendors and programs
- Identify and interpret results, trends, business and market environment and drive procurement performance
- Apply sophisticated procurement principles in order to realize best cost
- Participate in site visits and employee training
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education/Experience
- Bachelor of Science or related degree required with 4+ years of business, procurement, plant operations/ accounting or related experience.
- Knowledge of procurement tools and process management including strategic sourcing processes; procurement best practices, procedures, and policies; and strategic sourcing and operating metrics.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Regular, on-time and consistent attendance is required.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required (less than 15% of the time.

- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk, hear and lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to manipulate/handle objects.Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch, lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Able to communicate with others by telephone and in person.
- Able to utilize office equipment including a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations.
- May require sitting for extended periods of time.
