Job Summary

 

The Communications Manager will lead and support the overall corporate communications strategy for Oldcastle APG, a CRH company. This position will focus primarily on internal communications, including executive and company-wide messages, as well as external communications through social media and PR platforms. The Communications Manager will partner with a small team on the day-to-day communications program to achieve maximum results.

 

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to write and distribute company-wide communications that are consistent and effective across the company’s global geography.
  • Support senior leadership with the development and distribution of organizational and personnel announcements while exercising a high level of confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create video content, including script writing and storyboarding.
  • Project manage and publish bi-annual company newsletter.
  • Manage corporate social media pages and identify opportunities to further expand the company’s social media presence, as well as the social media presence of company executives.
  • Develop and write press releases and articles for a variety of news publications.
  • Represent Oldcastle APG on cross-divisional projects within CRH.
  • Work alongside a team to plan and execute bi-annual leadership meetings, lending communications, audio/visual, and video expertise.
  • Maintain external website and intranet homepage with engaging and relevant content.
  • Provide meaningful reports for senior leadership on communications effectiveness.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience developing, writing, editing, and supporting communications initiatives in a large corporate environment
  • Management experience a plus
  • Solid judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience publishing company communications and newsletters (candidates will be required to submit writing samples)
  • Experience with LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social media platforms
  • Video and photography related skills
  • Website and intranet management abilities
  • Design, Constant Contact, MailChimp, PowerPoint, and Vimeo experience a plus
