Job Summary
Oldcastle Infrastructure, a leading provider of building products and services, is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Corporate EHS Intern to join our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team for the summer of 2025. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to key initiatives that enhance EHS capabilities across the organization while gaining hands-on experience in both office-based and site-based environments. The primary focus of this internship will be to design and implement an EHS playbook for entry-level and professionals and assist in the creation of a leadership development program for EHS team members. Additional responsibilities include attending external EHS certification classes, supporting research and special projects, and developing training programs tailored to Oldcastle’s operational needs. This position is expected to start remote or Oldcastle headquarters in Atlanta, Ga around May 2025 and continue through the entire summer term (i.e. through August 2025). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, for most internships.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive EHS playbook designed to onboard and train entry-level EHS professionals.
- Outline key responsibilities, best practices, and tools needed for success in EHS roles.
- Design a leadership development program tailored to upskill and prepare EHS team members for advanced roles.
- Identify essential skills and training topics for career progression in the EHS field.
- Research and recommend EHS certifications and training programs that align with Oldcastle’s business objectives.
- Identify site-specific and general training needs for EHS and operational teams.
- Assist with E3 Audits to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support EHS Manager(s) with site visits, including documentation, observations, and follow-ups on safety initiatives.
- Attend external EHS certification classes to gain firsthand knowledge and evaluate program relevance for internal implementation.
- Support research initiatives related to industry best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative EHS strategies.
- Contribute to special projects that address business priorities or improve safety and environmental standards.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree with an interest in EHS
- Previous internship or work experience in EHS, training, or program development
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards
- Demonstrated superior academic performance and strong analytical skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work with cross functional and dispersed teams
