Job Description

 

The Inside Sale Representative will serve as the primary sales and account management representative to existing and new accounts within the assigned territory and/or market. In this role, you will be responsible for increasing sales and distribution, analyzing pricing, cost, and quote submission. The goal is to contribute to the overall operational efficiency and provide superior customer service experience while building and maintaining the customer base and relationships.

 

Position Functions and Tasks

 

The primary function is to deliver best in class customer service, build strong relations, and influence decision makers. This role’s responsibilities will include Sales support and analysis, monitor competitor trends and market conditions. This position requires working knowledge of all business systems tools and is positioned to handle special / complex / high-profile accounts.

 

Duties

 

  • Analyzes data to understand the current market price and provide strategic pricing
  • Enter estimates (quotations) while being solution-driven in any interactions with both internal and external customers
  • Review customer submitted specifications and/or competitor part numbers to offer/develop cost effective product solutions
  • Price product to maximize profit margins within established departmental guidelines
  • Keep up-to-date on relevant offerings in the market and effectively communicate our value proposition
  • Develop customer relationships that promote retention and loyalty
  • Partner with Sales team members to manage all aspects of a customer's account
  • Subject matter expert
  • Grow customer accounts for profitability
  • Collaborate with the team to be part of the continuous improvement

 

Characteristics of the Successful Candidate

 

  • This position requires >5 years customer service experience and >2 years inside sales experience is a plus
  • High initiative and drive; a self-starter who operates with speed, simplicity, and passion to succeed
  • Agent of change for continuous growth and improvement
  • Strong relationship skills
  • Team player able to coordinate and collaborate to drive actions and results
  • Great autonomy and superior organizational skills
  • Demonstrates time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills

 

Requirements

 

  • Able to read and interpret product drawings
  • Demonstrates a passion for new technologies, by staying current in the upcoming trends
  • Customer Service background; manufacturing or technical sales
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining excellent customer / distributor relationships
  • Performs various tasks and projects to support the sales team
  • Willing to be adaptable & flexible in our ever-changing work environment
  • BA/BS degree from accredited college/university; technical degree preferred
