Job Summary


The EHS Management Development Trainee program launches trainee into a rewarding Oldcastle career. The trainee will undertake a rotational program with exposure to several managers and manufacturing locations and processes across the United States. The rotational training period usually lasts 12-18 months. Trainee will develop a broad set of management and technical skills as they encounter a variety of real-world business challenges and opportunities. At the completion of the rotational training period, so long as the trainee's performance warrants advancement, they will become eligible to be reassigned to a business unit in an EHS or similar role.


  • Trainee will spend time with EHS and operational managers who will engage the trainee in specific process improvement initiatives as well as involve the trainee in day to day site management and problem-solving activities.
  • The trainee should expect to gain knowledge in EHS IT/IS systems, various types of manufacturing processes, safety programs, environmental programs, and leadership.
  • Trainee will learn about, and perform, IH testing for sites as needed
  • Trainee will be assigned an executive mentor to aid in their growth process




  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the rotational program and availability to relocate to receive a permanent assignment – 50-75% (travel restrictions apply during Covid-19)
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Environmental and/or Safety Discipline, Engineering or equivalent work or Military experience is preferred
  • Problem solving skills
  • Conflict management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to be creative and learn new ways to achieve success
  • Ability to assume admin roles for various EHS computer platforms
