As we grow, we will be sharing architecture and best practices across business divisions within our larger landscape as well.  To meet these challenges, we are looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our “elite” team of application, data, integration, security and infrastructure architects and to help us drive to standards and best practice design patterns across our organization.

 

The Role

 

The Enterprise Architect will partner with other IT technical resources and peer architects to support the continued growth and success of the enterprise in a robust and cohesive team. To be successful, the position will need to demonstrate expert level technological insight to execute our global data strategy. The position works closely with Technical Engineers and Architects to design the best architecture for our business as it grows and assist in selecting/enhancing/evolving our platforms ensuring they are stable, secure, performant and can be used efficiently to drive the company objectives. 

 

Reporting to the VP of Data & Analytics and Enterprise Architecture, the role will be responsible for guiding our architectural footprint while enabling the business to move at speed and scale.  The right candidate will be able to seamlessly work across departments and work in matrix/agile project teams. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture "Blueprint" (i.e., the Enterprise Reference Architecture) that aligns with business objectives and technical systems architecture.
  • Develop and maintain architectural standards, frameworks, practices, methods, services, templates, repositories, etc., and ensure coverage and adoption across IPG architects.
  • Develop and maintain tools to support the activities of architects.
  • Drive awareness, education, and training of architects to drive enterprise-level consistency and quality in architectural practices.
  • Work with individual project teams to align with and adopt EA practices, solutions, and platforms to accelerate their development velocity.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in Enterprise, Portfolio, and Solution architecture, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and alignment with industry standards.
  • Develop technology strategies and roadmaps for the overall connected systems.
  • Stay current on emerging technical trends that may impact or influence our architectural decisions/directions.
  • Influence others to follow best practices and design patterns even when there is no direct reporting relationship.
  • Provides advice and guidance for other architects sensitively and where appropriate.
  • Develops a wide network, including senior-level contacts to facilitate activities and demonstrates an ability to negotiate with and influence senior colleagues and contacts.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
  • 15+ years’ experience in enterprise-scale architect-level technical roles with cloud and hybrid infrastructures responsible for architectural strategy recommendations
  • Extensive practical Enterprise Architecture experience, certified with a recognized EA framework, e.g. TOGAF
  • Proven track record of driving and leading large-scale architectural projects throughout an entire business through to completion
  • The technical aptitude and experience to learn new technologies and understand relevant trends quickly and the ability understand how to adapt those to support the company strategy
  • Excellent/expert-level knowledge of multiple technologies (Cloud, Application, Integration, Infrastructure, etc) and current computing trends
  • Prior work experience in an Architecture position utilizing technologies from Azure, Google and/or Amazon, Azure is preferred
  • Experience working in an environment utilizing SAP S/4 in a cloud environment is a plus
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to remain effective and productive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build business relationships and work directly with all organization levels including executive stakeholders
