The Field Service Technician shall provide customers and owners of Hydro equipment continual technical assistance and instructions in the installation, maintenance, and operation of Hydro’s wastewater and wet weather products and processes.

 

Key Duties

 

  • To work closely with customer service, project engineers, sales, management, and other co-workers to ensure a professional and seamless service to our customers.
  • Increases the customer’s knowledge of Hydro’s products by effectively facilitating installation, start-up, and maintenance of Hydro’s wastewater and wet weather products.
  • Supervise the field installation of Hydro’s wastewater and wet weather products, as necessary.
  • Coordinate and provide technical advice, assistance, and product training to customers of Hydro’s wastewater and we weather products.
  • Perform inspections of Hydro’s wastewater and wet weather products in the fabrication shop and in the field.
  • Aid in evaluating vendor products and developing standards to enhance performance and operation.
  • In conjunction with sales and engineering, identify areas for product improvement or needs for new products.
  • Maintain relations between the customer and the organization on field service matters.
  • Assist customer service and sales channels in selling company’s products & services by providing technical expertise to prospective and established customers.
  • Assist pilot program coordinator with technical and mechanical services for Hydro’s pilot equipment.
  • Perform or assist with field performance testing of Hydro wastewater and wet weather products as required.
  • Maintain a historical log of site visits and generate trip reports, including site photos, using approved forms and checklists.
  • To apply requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 as appropriate within the areas of responsibility.
  • To be responsible for the Health and Safety and Environmental aspects affecting self, employees, and projects in your control.

 

Competence & Qualifications

 

  • A degree in a technical field is desirable but compatible work experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Candidates should have an excellent mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of electronics, electrical systems and hold strong written and oral communication skills.
  • The Field Service Technician shall have at least three years of shop or field experience in installation, maintenance, and operation of similar or related equipment.
  • Self-sufficient, a problem solver, able to manager time and resources effectively.
  • The candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Drivers License.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to sit at a desk/computer station for long periods of time with regular stretch breaks.
  • Travel up to 75% in North America and abroad (primarily domestic).
