Job Summary


As a Human Resource Generalist for Oldcastle Coastal, you will ensure consistent policy and procedure application, including progressive discipline, problem resolution, and work force diversity to maximize employee satisfaction.


  • Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Administer, interpret and explain human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, terminations, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system.
  • Oversee leave of absences and return to work process and partner with Safety Manager.
  • Develop and/or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs, including the coordination with outside staffing agencies to secure agency employees based on departmental needs.
  • Conduct new employee orientations for all exempt positions and process hiring-related paperwork.
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
  • Conduct HR training for supervisors and managers.
  • Represent Company to local/community organizations.  Plans and directs community activities.
  • Facilitate timely and consistent entry of hourly payroll and payroll data into HRIS.
  • Monitor for the consistency in application of policies and procedures and compliance with governmental regulations for facility.
  • Provide counseling/coaching for all employees including management and supervisors regarding employee relations matters.
  • Create reports, analysis, action plans and documentation to corporate departments as required.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, including special projects.




  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Human Resources) and two (2) plus years of HR Generalist experience OR high school diploma/equivalent and (5) plus years of HR Generalist experience
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Experience with handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Experience with handling complex employee relation matters
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Valid driver's license


Preferred Skills


  • Experience working in a construction environment preferred
  • Experience working with Kronos, UltiPro and Success Factors
  • SHRM or PHR Certification
