Job Summary

 

The Management Development Trainee program starts our recruits on a journey that will enable a rewarding career in the extremely diverse culture of Oldcastle APG. This role will give the trainee a unique perspective of Oldcastle – being tied to our Operations Support Team with time spent in our existing manufacturing facilities as well as with construction project team. The initial training period usually lasts 12-24 months and can lead to many different areas of our business.

  

Responsibilities

 

  • Consult with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules for all ongoing and future projects incorporating all necessary information, and integrating subcontractor and vendor
  • Update and revise the schedule to reflect actual progress, delays, quantities installed, actual labor hours and associated costs, and drawing, design, or delivery revisions.
  • Maintain Electronic project files: Contracts, change orders, Equipment prints, Permits, Daily and weekly reports & project photos and videos
  • Understand impact of changes to budgets and resource requirements 
  • Providing critical path analyses, identifying problem areas, and creating work-around solutions
  • Determining timing tasks and when specific materials will be needed
  • Spend time in field with Operations Support team

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or another relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of two years' experience as a project scheduler in a related industry.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to work with cross-functional teams as well as independently.
  • Ability to keep stakeholders informed of project timelines and changes.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills, Experience working with Microsoft Project a plus
  • Travel up to 75% of the time
  • CAD Experience a plus
  • Relocatable for advancement opportunities
