Position Overview

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Security of the CRH Americas Materials Group (CRH AMAT), the O365 Security Administrator will possess deep technical knowledge of the O365 platform. They are responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving the O365 platform security. This critical hands-on position partners with peers and senior IT leadership across all CRH/Oldcastle entities in the development of O365 security policies, standards, and programs as well as delivery of projects supporting CRH Cyber Security strategy. The O365 Security Administrator provides platform expertise, leadership and management over monitoring and administering corporate email, one drive, SharePoint, Teams, and other O365 platform functions.

The intent of this role is management / ownership of the O365 platform with the primary emphasis on security. This role is not intended for day-to-day mailbox management, account creation, or other service desk area functions.

 

The O365 Security Administrator is a member of the Cybersecurity Team and will participate in response and remediation of security incidents at CRH. The O365 Security Administrator will work closely with the IT leadership and decision makers in other departments in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective security solutions for all aspects of the organization. The O365 Security Administrator will work collaboratively to assist teams across other US and global divisions of CRH (CRH AMAT’s parent company).

 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

  • Work closely with global Security teams, as well as internal IT teams
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality, integrity and professional behavior expected of a Security Professional
  • Serve as a member of the Security Incident Response Team & identify, respond to, and assist with the remediation of security incidents, intrusions, malware infections, etc. at the local, national, or global level as needed
  • Provide expert guidance, support, and troubleshooting for global O365 tenants
  • Collaborate with all O365 teams to identify security gaps and establish consistent security baseline configurations across tenants
  • Provide core administration/escalation support for messaging services, focused mainly on Cisco IronPort and Microsoft EOP/ATP in a globally distributed O365 cloud environment
  • As the primary O365 platform owner, ensure oversight for all security systems and tools on the platform.
  • Perform technical security and vulnerability assessments to identify, investigate, and initiate preventive measures to address potential security threats.
  • Stay informed and knowledgeable about new and updated features, platform and service changes
  • Create impact analysis, recommendations, and project plans for improving, adapting, and responding to platform changes.
  • Stay informed and knowledgeable regarding the information security threat landscape and best practices, and present recommendations to senior IT leadership as appropriate.
  • Participate in systems architecture/design sessions as appropriate to ensure security related requirements/best practices are addressed.
  • Take action to maintain compliance to security standards and policy, escalate non-compliance in a timely and effective manner
  • Participate as an effective contributor in global and regional security working groups, conferences, programs of work and projects as required

Qualifications

 

Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer-related discipline; or equivalent professional experience
  • One or more current Security certifications or the ability to earn one within first year of hire (CISSP, GCIH, Security+, etc.)
  • One or more current Microsoft certifications or the ability to earn one within first year of hire (Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) certificate, Microsoft 365 Certified Security Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-101) certificate, etc.)

 

 

Experience

 

  • Extremely strong PowerShell scripting. Powershell is an integral part of O365 messaging and Active Directory. This role requires demonstrable ability to create, test, and run powershell scripts.
  • Strong knowledge of, and experience with, Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection and latest Microsoft E5 or G5 Security Product set (e.g., Azure AD, multi-factor authentication Microsoft Defender, Office 365 threat protection, data loss prevention, and conditional access, Windows AppLocker, and Microsoft Cloud App Security)
  • 5+ years of providing technical support for the implementation of Azure and Microsoft 365 endpoint security, compliance, and identity management service
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing and managing enterprise-wide technical solutions in large, distributed enterprise environments
  • Experience with Cisco / Ironport, and ProofPoint email security products preferred
  • Experience with Okta preferred
  • Systems administration experience
