Position Overview

 

The Senior Manager of I&D will help shape and sustain an inclusive and equitable culture and embody our I&D promise to its fullest potential by bringing innovative and creative solutions to improve the culture of CRH Americas. 
 

The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert on how to create and implement programs that will help every person do their best work at CRH. Must be capable to be both a tactical leader who can roll up their sleeves, as well as a strategic partner.  The Senior Manager will assist in setting benchmarks (quantitative and qualitative goals), regularly measuring against those, and communicating results.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

Cultivating Talent and Culture

Leverage subject matter expertise, project management skills and strategic thought to drive internally facing initiatives by:

 

  • Providing overall guidance and direction of employee representative groups (ERGs), spearheading the development and growth of the groups and their sponsors to ensure ongoing, lasting impact.

  • Implementing and overseeing the CRH Americas Mentoring program.

  • Providing resources to support I&D campaigns to the operating companies (i.e. Black History, Mental Health, International Women’s Day, etc.).

  • Advising on people processes and policies. Consult on opportunities related to hiring, performance management, promotion, other people processes and I&D best practices.

  • Creating and launching I&D education programs.

  • Providing business leaders benchmarks and metrics to determine effectiveness of I&D initiatives.

  • Identifying and building relationships in the DEI community, with the CRH Global I&D team, business organizations and causes that focus on promoting and enhancing inclusion and diversity.

  • Acting as a “culture consultant” to bring a diverse perspective to our ideas and execution.

  • Working with communications resources to be known as a go-to source for inclusive communications both internally and externally.

  • Working with employees and leadership teams to create opportunities for their personal stories and best practices to be shared.

 

Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Diversity/Inclusion Certification a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a D&I role preferred or an HR role with heavy emphasis on D&I.

  • Experience managing and implementing organization-wide projects.

  • Experience in data analysis and interpretation.

 

Work Requirements

 

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

  • Ability to travel 5-10% for functional meetings.

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated experience with diversity and inclusion processes within a large organization.

  • Strong written and oral/expressive communication skills for meeting facilitation and deliverable development.

  • Able to build strong networks and effectively engage and manage stakeholders including the ability to drive, steer, convince and influence others.

  • Must be able to analyze and interpret data and information.

  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency, and professionalism.

  • Results driven- demonstrates ownership and accountability and delivers on commitments.

  • Project Management experience with proven ability to drive a project from beginning to end with high customer satisfaction.

  • Demonstrated cross-cultural competencies, including strong emotional intelligence and the ability to engage and build relationships at all levels within the organization.

  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads.

  • Ability to work with many cross-functional internal and external partners, in a matrix environment with a high sense of urgency.
