Position Overview

The Solution Architect is responsible for finding the best technical solutions available to solve specific business problems.  They work with the Application Development team to shape the overall technical strategy for the software development.   They translate functional requirements into technical specifications and work closely with our Architecture Review Board to design and implement SAP and non-SAP solutions needed to fulfill business needs.    To do this successfully they research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure that a high-quality solution is developed and implemented.  They also ensure that specifications are developed for how a solution is defined, managed, and delivered.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Work with other IT professionals in the company to determine needs for new software, platforms, and applications
  • Collaborate with the Architecture Review Board (ARB) on application solutions to ensure enterprise architecture standards are being followed and define architectural design processes within the organization
  • Architect and design solutions for new and existing applications that follow the overall strategy and use industry best practices
  • Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
  • Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, flexibility, extensibility, etc.
  • Document technical solutions and create clear and concise instructions for internal/ external clients.
  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle
  • Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
  • Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
  • Provide technical guidance, oversee progress to ensure consistence, and supervise work of the development team. Suggest and implement solutions for process improvement
  • Approve final product before launch
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in technologies to provide innovative solutions to the organization.

 

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Computer-related discipline, or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years of experience IT and/or engineering experience
  • 7+ years of experience with software development lifecycle, deployment, and maintenance
  • 7+ years of experience with applications integration development lifecycle, deployment, and support
  • 5+ years of experience of SAP development and integrations experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with Mulesoft, ETL, and middleware technologies
  • 3+ years of experience Angular and web application deployment.
  • 3+ years of experience understanding of development best practices (C#, T-SQL).
  • 3+ years of working with Cloud technologies (Azure Experience Preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience managing Team Foundation Services
  • 3+ years Windows IIS 7/8 
  • PowerShell Experience Preferred

 

Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Ability to travel (overnight) as required based on business needs up to 10%

  • Hybrid work schedule. Required to come in to the office at least 2 days, more if needed.
  • Usually, normal office working conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • The position may require work outside of normal business hours
