Position Overview
CRH Americas Materials currently has ~15 different ERP systems (from two separate software vendors - SAP and Viewpoint) and is on a transformational journey to move to a single ERP environment (SAP) with standardized business processes across the company. This will be a multi-year program with complex change management and implementation plans.
The Sr. Director of ERP serves a critical role in this transformation and will act as the IT owner of the future unified ERP system. As part of the ERP transformation, we will have a large team of system integrator (SI) resources working on the ERP requirements, design, build, and implementation over a multi-year period. The Sr. Director of ERP will ensure that the work done by the SI and internal CRH employees is of high quality, done on time & budget, and meets our standardized business process requirements.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Lead the team working on the transformation to the new ERP system, largely focused on Financial modules in the first phase of the project
- Partner closely with the business to ensure that the ERP system meets the future standardized business processes
- Work with other workstream leads (Master Data, Reporting, Integrations, etc.) and business leaders in the organization to successfully complete the new ERP implementation program on time and budget
- Supervise work done by the System Integrator (SI) resources assigned to the ERP implementation project to ensure its delivered on time and budget, and meets the business requirements
- Build and manage internal SAP implementation team that is expected to grow over time
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Accounting or similar technical discipline
- Advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of managing teams implementing or supporting enterprise scale SAP ERP applications
- Experience leading large (30+ members) teams of ERP project resources on complex multi-year implementations
- 8+ years of progressive experience managing teams
- 5+ years of large enterprise experience supporting financial applications
- 3+ years of experience working as Functional lead on ERP implementations
- Strong knowledge of the SAP Financial modules, with prior experience working in Finance Functional roles high preferred
- Financial process design and implementation experience and acumen required
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Strong financial knowledge and expertise
- Demonstrable experience in full life cycle management of enterprise applications and services.
- Implementation of flexible staffing models utilizing both onshore and offshore partners.
- Extensive experience in solution and application vendor management.
- Demonstrable experience mentoring and growing managers and staff.
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with people with a wide range of skills, experience, cultures and capabilities including business leaders, peers, vendors, and staff members.
- Ability to present ideas in concise, business-friendly, and user-friendly language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Construction or heavy manufacturing industry experience a plus.

- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% (average 25% but will be higher during key project milestones such as User Acceptance Testing, Go-Live)
- Overtime as required to meet project deadlines.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
