Job Description


The Technical Scrum Master will be dedicated to a single Scrum team at onset, may take on one other team as we grow. The successful candidate will need to have experience working with technical teams, have excellent logic and problem-solving skills and a drive to make a difference. We need an individual that puts the team before themselves and facilitates team flow. They will be responsible for enforcing the rules of agile development (Scrum, SAFe, etc), removing impediments from their team while promoting self-management and constantly improving our standards of work.  Experience leading teams through continued agile growth and maturity a plus.


Position Responsibilities


  • Serve as team Primary Point of Contact for status on work on board, team capacity, and team blockers
  • Communicate with other management, developers, product managers and technical support specialists on product issues
  • Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments
  • Organize and facilitate Sprint sessions, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings with efficiency and motivation
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress
  • Maintain team documentations sites
  • Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
  • Assist as needed with backlog maintenance
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects / bugs
  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices
  • Identify and remove impediments, prevents distractions
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
  • Empower the team to self-organize


Required Skills & Experience


  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 8 years equivalent work experience desired
  • 5+ years project management experience and 2+ years of Scrum Master experience
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Understanding of basic supply chain management principals
  • Understanding of organization’s development platform and languages, including Infor M3, Oracle Transportation Management
  • Scrum Master certification is highly desirable
  • Ability to understand technical issues
