Job Summary

 
This role will assist various departments in ordering and placing purchase orders for needed supplies and verifying when received.

 
Job Responsibilities 

 

  • Ensure the accurate and timely purchasing of all items or services to fulfill and meet company requirements
  • Create purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner
  • Order supplies for individual departments and maintains purchase requirements
  • Review orders and requests to ensure vendor compliance, and recommend vendor changes when necessary
  • Place orders and expedite as needed to insure timely delivery
  • Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability and other criteria 
  • Develop and optimize vendor relationships 
  • Review any invoice discrepancies. Apply to suppliers with requests for credits or adjustments
  • Ensure that all purchase requests have been approved in accordance with authorized approval levels
  • Identify most cost effective freight movement 
  • Direct communication with manufacturing personnel to ensure seamless operation of the facility with minimal disruption of production
  • Coordinate and processes all Return-To-Vendor requests
  • Various administrative duties such as filing, copying, etc.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned

  
Job Requirements
 

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area, or minimum of one year’s related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years prior purchasing experience, preferred
  • Manufacturing background, preferred
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Good written and verbal skills

 

Compensation

 

  • The hourly pay rate can range between $28-$32/hr

  • Vacation hours of two weeks per year

  • Sick leave benefits in accordance with State Laws
