Position Summary

Responsible for company level accounting activities including, but not limited to; accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, invoice processing, production and inventory, sales orders, billing, cost to complete, sales and use tax, fixed assets and depreciation, month- and year-end closings, analysis of financial reports.  Candidates must have a complete understanding of plant accounting and inventory data flow to ensure data integrity with the ability to investigate variances and eliminate causes.  A solid understanding of project accounting including budgets, change orders, variances and re-forecasting as required. Experience with SOX compliance and audit procedures.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience) and Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or its equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting or audit role
  • Specific experience with inventory and costing; financial accounting; business law including sales and use tax regulations, lien laws, etc.; internal controls; payroll & benefit programs; accounts payable.;
  • Excellent communicator, able to work as a team member and provide extensive support to the VP of Finance, Controller and other personnel
  • Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, especially proficient with Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a “Make it Happen” approach
  • High ethical and professional standards – honesty, integrity & common sense
  • Good attendance and positive attitude a must

 

Work Requirements

  • Must pass a drug screen, “fit for work” physical and criminal background check.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Report to the office dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must have the ability to work without close supervision.
