Position Overview

CRH Americas Materials is looking for a customer-focused individual with strong technical and supervisory skills to join our team as a Field Services Lead Technician.  The individual must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize workload and self-manage his/her daily activities and the activities of a small group of Field Services Technicians.  The position will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and support of users and technology at various CRH Americas Materials sites in a particular state/region, including offices and plant facilities.  This position will provide coaching, mentorship and performance evaluation of Field Services Technicians, while maintaining onsite technical support in collaboration with our centralized Service Desk and other IT teams.   This position will also require project work and travel as necessary.   This position will report to the Field Services Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of a small team of Field Services Technicians, including management of the on-call rotation.
  • Serve as the communication link between the team and the Field Services Manager.
  • Act as a coach or mentor to Field Service technicians, including routine evaluation of performance.
  • Act as a first point of internal escalation within the Field Services support team.
  • Maintenance of team queues to include prompt response to and/or assignment of tickets escalated by the Service Desk.
  • Provide hands on and remote troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and upgrade of IT hardware and software.
  • Provide timely and proactive status updates to key stakeholders, and CRH AMAT IT Management.
  • Support the continuous improvement culture through the identification of potential process/procedural improvements and/or participation on cross functional/regional teams.
  • Expense report review and approval.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • 5 years’ worth of experience working in a structured enterprise IT support role with a demonstrated ability to lead, coach or mentor other technicians.
  • Knowledge of Windows 7 and above, Office 2013 Suite, Mobile devices, VPN, and Networking.
  • ITIL Foundation or HDI Support Center Team Lead preferred.
  • Citrix, ShoreTel, and Command Alkon system experience preferred.

 

Work and Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to be on call at a scheduled rotation.
  • Ability to travel (overnight) as required based on business needs up to 33%.
  • Ability to drive up to 5 hours for onsite services.
  • Must pass background check, alcohol and drug testing.

  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with people with a wide range of skills, experience, cultures and capabilities –business leaders, finance leaders, peers, vendors, staff members
  • Ability to present ideas in concise, business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Ability to self-manage time and travel expenses on a weekly basis
  • Ability to supervise direct reports and maintain confidential information

Work Environment

  • Normal office working conditions in addition to plant sites both inside and outdoor environments.
  • Position may require work outside of normal business hours.
