Summary

The Area Mine Surveyor will work with the Regional Market Area Management Team to ensure implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, safety and health processes and systems consistent with CRH policies and performance standards as well as compliance with applicable regulations.  This person will also serve as a catalyst and expert resource to assist in mine planning and permitting.

 

Responsibilities

  • Providing expertise for local management regarding environmental, safety and health issues and surveying as needed.
  • Advising and assisting local management in implementing, managing and auditing within the framework of an innovative Environmental, Health and Safety Management Systems in mining mine setting.
  • Being an action figure in shifting our safety culture from roles and regulatory compliance to a safety culture developed as a behavior driven value.
  • Ensure timely reporting to state and federal agencies.
  • Coordinate health and industrial hygiene monitoring with rick management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.         
  • Experience with Federal Environmental Regulations
  • 3+ years of experience in the mining industry
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, and written
  • High level of computer proficiency in MS Office products
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 and CFR 1926 regulations
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations 40 CFR
  • Strong analytical technical skills

 

Preferences

  • Nationally recognized Safety and Health Certificates preferred (ASP, CSP, CIH)

 

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, “Fit to Work” physical, and criminal background.
  • Must partner with other quarry employees as instructed by facility manager to ensure daily schedules are met.
  • Attendance required according to attendance policy to ensure crew ability to operate at a normal efficiency level.
  • Physical ability to operate equipment under extreme temperatures and for extended hours of time.
  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completions.
  • Attitude/cooperation: always maintain courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work various times during day, night, or weekends hours at various locations.
  • Ability to follow MSHA/OSHA safety guidelines as well as those set forth by the company policy.
  • Ability to follow instructions of supervisors/facility manager in order to adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.
