Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Function as a safety leader by demonstrating a personal commitment to working safely and ensuring that the plant continues to eliminate work-related risks by increased use of hazard recognition techniques; function as a strong advocate and leader in promoting a safe working environment for all employees at the plant; conduct effective monthly safety meetings
  • Understand and operate in accordance with company programs, policies, and legislative requirements to ensure that environmental and quality standards and performance objective targets are met
  • Advise Plant Manager / Maintenance Manager in all aspects of plant equipment reliability and function
  • Provide budget input to the Maintenance Manager
  • Assist in the development and documentation of the CAPEX plan
  • Develop and monitor the Reliability objectives and targets
  • Develop and monitor the annual equipment shutdown plan
  • Provide oversight to the CbM program
  • Lead the activities of the Reliability team FMEAs, Project meetings, etc.
  • Oversee all aspects of maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Direct the Maintenance Planner to ensure that the workflow is managed and controlled
  • Review and provide feedback on the status of maintenance plans (daily, weekly, master)
  • Review the PM program and ensure proper compliance
  • Monitor and oversee the optimization of the spare parts inventory.
  • Focus on achieving results
  • Develop a strong working relationship with the production team to ensure cooperation and harmony
  • Mentor and coach staff to support their personal development

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills Required

 

  • Experience with plant reliability programs required
  • Prior maintenance experience desired; knowledge of industrial processes
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with MS Project preferred
