Boom/Block Truck Driver

Job Description Summary

Employee essential in the mobilization of materials between facilities, job sites, and customers for our Buckhannon, Bridgeport or Morgantown WV areas.

Requirements

• Check all inventory in truck against purchase orders
• Conducting site inspections
• Organize and secure load
• Assist forklift operators when loading
• Deliver product and material goods in a safe and timely manner to customer's satisfaction
• Coordinate delivery schedules using most efficient routes
• Safety inspection of the vehicle before delivery including tire pressure, basic fluid levels and pneumatic controls
• Provide professional customer service
• Follows policies and procedures to ensure the job is done properly
• Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level
• Normal Shift is 8-12 hours and requires both sitting and standing for long periods of time
• Physical ability to operate equipment and to transport material. Position may require employee to unload truck by hand and lifting up to 50lbs, 100 lb team lift
• Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public
• Craftsmanship and ability to follow OSHA/MSHA safety standards
• Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work may be required
• Ability to transport material with attention to detail and emphasis on safety
• Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion
• Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition
• Candidates may eventually be crossed-trained to operate other fleet vehicles including ready mix trucks and other equipment as deemed necessary
• Must pass drug test, criminal background check, and Functional Capacity Examination

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• Must possess a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• Prior driving experience or a current Certification from a DOT compliant CDL Driving School is required
